2019 Labor Day Cruise-In to China Camp!

(Updated!) Please join your fellow MMBA members by boat or car at the 2019 Labor Day Cruise-in to China Camp!

China Camp is a great place to anchor out with lots of history and great places to explore, both on foot and by dinghy.

Sail in Saturday August 31 at anytime. If you have a dinghy please bring it to help taxi those without to the festivities. Dual anchors are highly recommended (bow and stern) .

Update: There will be a main dish from the BBQ provided for Saturday evening’s meal. Please bring a side to share, and whatever you want to drink. If you play an instrument, bring that as well for a totally planned impromptu jam.

Sequestor will host a “brunch barge” Sunday morning with quiche Loraine and a Bloody Mary bar. Please feel free to raft up and add to this feast with pastries, bagels, mimosa fixings...

Please RSVP to hanslist09@yahoo.com to help us provision accordingly.

Alternatively the Quan Bros. Snack Shop is open on the weekends from 9-5 and offers a selection of picnic type food, drinks and ice cream. If you are coming by land please take the time to look at the China Camp Beach website. The park is open from 8am-sunset. Campsites are available just down the road at Back Meadow Ranch. Reservations are a must, and can be done at reservecalifornia.com

We hope to see you all there. Let us adorn China Camp Beach with all of our wooden glory!

New Year's Day Sail In & Chili Potluck

The MMBA will be continuing the time-honored tradition of the New Year’s Day “race,” chili potluck, and tacky trophy awards on Tuesday, January 1st, 2019 at the Point San Pablo Yacht Club. As in years past, an informal race will start off Clipper Cove at 11:00 am. The course will be from the port or starboard side of the “committee boat” to the finish at Pt. San Pablo YC’s dock.

It’s always a good time! And its a great way to begin the year by hanging out the sails and hanging out with friends. Boats are encouraged to join at any time after 11:00 and the only goal is to arrive at Pt. San Pablo YC by 2:00 pm for the tacky trophy exchange and some good food and adult beverages.

Tacky trophies are a good way to re-gift any white elephant gifts you may have received from well-meaning relatives or friends. The boat finishing DFL gives a trophy to the boat that finished ahead of it and that boat gives a trophy to the next finisher and so on until the “winner” gets his/hers. The last boat to finish gets the grand prize trophy, from the first place winner. Some real treasures have surfaced over the years, and like a bad penny they keep coming back.

All asphalt cruisers are welcome to come earlier around noon to warm up the kitchen and bar.

This will be a “free for all” potluck with no dish assignments. So bring enough for you, your crew, and some extra to share.
